God and the Government is back

God and the Government is back

From America Vision's Newsletter:

The book series that helped shape the thinking of conservative Christians for decades and laid the foundations for the small-government revolution...

If the resurgent conservative movement is to make lasting progress, it must adopt the fundamental principles of government anchored in the pages of Scripture.

Christians don’t want to set their beliefs aside so they can join yet another political organization.

They want the lordship of Jesus Christ to be over all of life—family, church, business, economics, and even the dirty work of politics.

Gary DeMar saw the need for developing the biblical principles necessary to meet this demand. Over the course of five years, he dedicated himself to mining the Bible for the foundational principles of government. The result was the three volumes of God and Government.

Newsletter continues below after the video-break suggested by World Christian Press:

Described as the “original operating philosophy of the New Christian Right,” God and Government had a transforming effect on hundreds of thousands of Christians who began to realize that the Bible has a great deal to say about civil authority, thus laying the foundations for the recent rise in Christian, limited-government activism, as seen in the 2010 Tea Party rout of Congress.

The series quickly became a staple in the Christian curriculum.

For decades, in the hands of countless teachers, parents, and students, God and Government educated minds young and old in the Christian history of America, the origin and foundation of government, the biblical principles of authority, and the basis and necessity of Christian political activism.

One of the most comprehensive studies of the topic ever published, God and Government—now thoroughly renovated, revised, and updated in this beautiful one-volume hardback— clearly explains the Bible’s timeless principles for everything from self-government, family government, church government, and civil government to education, economics, poverty, and law.

With a fresh new look, including hundreds of antique prints, paintings, and engravings; extensive subject and Scripture indices; and an updated reading list, God and Government is ready to prepare a new generation to take on the political and religious battles confronting Christians today.

Recognising Reality - Grieve that God is cursed for every catastrophe, but seldom praised for His wonderful Creation. Lament that God makes the news headlines only when man mocks His power or questions His goodness, but tens-of-thousands of God’s acts of mercy, grace, protection, provision and patience receive no headlines. Grieve that the Name of the only righteous Man who ever walked the earth is used as a swear word on T.V. screens and in cinemas across the world. Grieve that God is blasphemed by the very same people who question why God does not restrain the consequences of their own rebellious actions
