KIDS ALIVE INTERNATIONAL: Sudan Refugees Flee to the South

Refugees from Northern Sudan are Fleeing to the South to Find No Food, No Water, No Hope

After Southern Sudan voted for independence, thousands of Christian southerns who had migrated to the Islamic North for work are now fleeing Northern Sudan fearing oppression. In southern towns like Wau, food prices have skyrocketed. Jobs are scarce. And more people are arriving every day.

These refugees, many of whom had migrated north for jobs, are fleeing back to the south after Southern Sudan voted for independence just a few months ago. Also, street children in the north are being rounded up and trucked to the south. And the desperate reality these refugees face is that food prices have skyrocketed. Jobs are scarce. And thousands more people are arriving every day.

You know Kids Alive’s mission is to rescue orphaned and abandoned children from a life of hopelessness by caring for their physical and spiritual well-being.

But even though our primary focus is children, we can’t turn our back on this massive humanitarian crisis that is playing out in front of our eyes. Families, as well as street children, are pouring into the area around the city of Wau, where we are currently caring for boys and girls.

Won’t you help reach out with vital emergency supplies to girls, boys, men and women who have left everything to come back to Southern Sudan?

Please act today!

Each $45 you send will provide an Emergency Survival Pack with a month’s supply of beans, rice, oil and water. And each survival pack will also contain God’s Word so that people can drink Living Water and meet the Bread of Life — Jesus Christ.

$45 will help provide an Emergency Survival Pack for 1 refugee.

$90 will help provide Emergency Survival Packs for 2 refugees.

$135 will help provide Emergency Survival Packs for 3 refugees.

Other Amount: $.00

Quotes
My favorite place in the world is Colorado. I spent every summer there growing up and my family still has a cabin there. I love to hike (up to 12,000 ft peaks), bike, and raft in the mountains, so it is like heaven to me there. Biggest Challenge? My biggest challenge is being patient. I am very efficient and quite a perfectionist, so waiting does not come easily to me. Best Advice? Treat others as you would want to be treated, and never compromise what you know is right. Goals? To be a successful performer who is able to influence people for good.

Recognising Reality - Grieve that God is cursed for every catastrophe, but seldom praised for His wonderful Creation. Lament that God makes the news headlines only when man mocks His power or questions His goodness, but tens-of-thousands of God’s acts of mercy, grace, protection, provision and patience receive no headlines. Grieve that the Name of the only righteous Man who ever walked the earth is used as a swear word on T.V. screens and in cinemas across the world. Grieve that God is blasphemed by the very same people who question why God does not restrain the consequences of their own rebellious actions
