Pastor and his son attacked in Andhra Pradesh

Written by: Global Council of Indian Christians

Borgoam Village (Andhra Pradesh)- 8th April ’11: On 3rd April, at 10.00 in the night, one Narendra Goud, barged into the house and attacked Pastor Joseph Manda (43) causing serious injuries to his shoulders and legs. Mr. Sunny, his handicapped son, who came to his father’s rescue, was also badly attacked by Narendra Goud causing serious damage to his ears. It is also learnt that Narendra Goud, later also abused and manhandled pastor’s wife as well as his

daughter.

Pastor Aaron, Pastor Joseph’s brother on learning about the incident immediately informed the police at the Maaklore Police Station, who reached the place within an hour’s time and got both Pastor Joseph and his son Sunny admitted to the Nizamabad Government Hospital. Later, we understand that the Police also picked up Narendra Goud and charged him with attempt to murder. But, he was released on bail a day later.

Pastor Joseph is the pastor of Indian Pentecostal Church in charge of a church in Borgoam village. The church in the village was built about 3 years ago and it has about 40 believers as its members. We understand that the church was built on a land donated by Narendra Goud, and now he wants the property back for himself as the value of the property has risen sharply during the last few years. Though Narendra Goud’s wife is a member and attends the church, Narendra

Goud himself is not a member of the church. Pastor Joseph and his son Sunny were discharged from the hospital after spending 4 days in the hospital.

My favorite place in the world is Colorado. I spent every summer there growing up and my family still has a cabin there. I love to hike (up to 12,000 ft peaks), bike, and raft in the mountains, so it is like heaven to me there. Biggest Challenge? My biggest challenge is being patient. I am very efficient and quite a perfectionist, so waiting does not come easily to me. Best Advice? Treat others as you would want to be treated, and never compromise what you know is right. Goals? To be a successful performer who is able to influence people for good.

Recognising Reality - Grieve that God is cursed for every catastrophe, but seldom praised for His wonderful Creation. Lament that God makes the news headlines only when man mocks His power or questions His goodness, but tens-of-thousands of God’s acts of mercy, grace, protection, provision and patience receive no headlines. Grieve that the Name of the only righteous Man who ever walked the earth is used as a swear word on T.V. screens and in cinemas across the world. Grieve that God is blasphemed by the very same people who question why God does not restrain the consequences of their own rebellious actions
