The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada: Call for Prayer for Court Case

The Supreme Court of Canada is about to hear a case that could change the face of religious education in Canada.  You need to know about it!

Greetings Ministry Leader:

Read a letter from our President, Bruce Clemenger, regarding the importance of this case. A brief discussion of the issues is available here to help you understand the case more fully.  Concerned church leaders and parents can access and download a PDF of the detailed Frequently Asked Questions FAQ. Please feel free to copy and distribute these resources to your members.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) will be an intervenor before the Supreme Court of Canada to address the issue of whether parents have the right to choose the kind of religious education their children will receive. This case will be argued on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.  We NEED your prayers!

•    The EFC has a long history of appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada We are committed to protect the religious liberty of Canadians and to proclaim biblical truths in the public square.

•    The EFC reports on issues that are important to Evangelicals, offering the opportunity for Christians to discover information concerning important events that they would not hear about through mainstream media.

The EFC is the national association of evangelical Christians, gathered together for influence, impact and identity in ministry and public witness. Since 1964 the EFC has provided a national forum for Evangelicals and a constructive voice for biblical principles in life and society.

Will you stand behind us in prayer as we fight for the rights of parents all across Canada?

If you would like to know more about how YOUR CHURCH can become part of a national evangelical association, and assist the EFC in these ways, contact me at affiliation@theefc.ca

Quotes
My favorite place in the world is Colorado. I spent every summer there growing up and my family still has a cabin there. I love to hike (up to 12,000 ft peaks), bike, and raft in the mountains, so it is like heaven to me there. Biggest Challenge? My biggest challenge is being patient. I am very efficient and quite a perfectionist, so waiting does not come easily to me. Best Advice? Treat others as you would want to be treated, and never compromise what you know is right. Goals? To be a successful performer who is able to influence people for good.

Recognising Reality - Grieve that God is cursed for every catastrophe, but seldom praised for His wonderful Creation. Lament that God makes the news headlines only when man mocks His power or questions His goodness, but tens-of-thousands of God’s acts of mercy, grace, protection, provision and patience receive no headlines. Grieve that the Name of the only righteous Man who ever walked the earth is used as a swear word on T.V. screens and in cinemas across the world. Grieve that God is blasphemed by the very same people who question why God does not restrain the consequences of their own rebellious actions
