With just over two months to go before teaching evangelistic Bible lessons, missionaries are experiencing some attempts to thwart the work of God among the Siar people in Papua New Guinea.
Rumors are being spread that the missionaries have come with impure motives and that eventually they will abuse and harm the Siars.
“Honestly, these trials have confirmed to us that we are in the right place,” wrote missionary Chris Lujan. “For generations darkness has had a strong hold on the Siar people, but not for long; Satan isn't going to go down without a fight. However, he is already defeated, thanks to Christ.”
While enduring trials has been difficult, God is encouraging the team with their progress in translating evangelistic Bible lessons. They have prepared 38 of the 70 lessons and are delighted that their Siar translation co-laborers seem to grasp the meaning of the lessons.
Chris asks people to pray that the Siars will see that they are hopeless and helpless without God. Pray too for the missionary team as they prepare to begin teaching God’s Word.
