The 2010 Christmas Trees Lighting Ceremony was broadcast to the world

On December 10, 2010 Manmin Central Church held the 2010 Christmas Trees Lighting Ceremony in commemoration of the birth of Jesus, reports Manmin News.

The Master of Ceremonies was Pastor Dove Daehee Cho and representative prayer was offered by Pastor Sangtae Kim. The moment Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee turned on the main switch after all brothers and sisters in attendance cried out, "Faith, Hope and Love", fireworks flashed and all the lights that decorated the trees were lit. Then Immanuel Choir and Shalom Choir sang the carol "Joy to the World" in celebration of the birth of Jesus, who came down to this earth to save mankind. After that Pastor Iris Kim sang a special song "Feliz Navidad" which was followed by a short Christmas celebration message given by Senior Pastor Lee.

In his message, Senior Pastor Lee said, "Christmas is the day we celebrate Jesus coming down to this earth in a human form to save us from our sins. When I find the churches that have put up beautiful decorations in celebration of the Lord's birth, my heart is touched. In my childhood we lived in poverty, but every church made Christmas tree decorations with their sincerity every year and gave gifts to the poor. But I am very sorry considering the reality of today's situation. Now is the time for all the believers in the Lord have to renew their hearts."

The decorations with beautiful flowers, snowflakes, and LED bulbs in the main sanctuary of Manmin Central Church, expressed a banquet to be held in New Jerusalem to commemorate the birth of the Lord. The main theme of the outside decorations of the sanctuary is "Glory in Heaven and Joy and Peace on Earth" and the outside was adorned with snowy trees, holy paintings of Jesus' birth, a 35-meter-tall tree of lights and many LED bulbs shining in various-colors. At the entrance of the church there was a photographic booth with cards celebrating Christmas that were composed by senior leaders of the church.

This year's Christmas celebration trees' decorations were made by the Designer's Mission, Sharon Mission, and the Church Facilities' Managing Department. In their love for the Lord Jesus Christ, many other missions also contributed their talents and performances including Children's Mission, Students' Mission, Paul's Mission, Mary's Mission, Young Adults' Mission, College Mission, and Canaan Mission. This ceremony was broadcast live to the world via Manmin TV and the Internet. The members of the church prayed that the lights of love and service to the Lord might enlighten every corner of the earth.

2010 Christmas Celebration Tree Decoration in the Main Sanctuary

The decorations in the main sanctuary symbolize the 'Christmas Commemoration Banquet in the City of New Jerusalem.' Pink and white flowers, snowflakes, and LED bulbs expressed the beautiful and bright mood of Heaven. The pretty decorations on the pillars on the right side of the sanctuary showed the beauty of the banquet in New Jerusalem. The big stars on the arched balcony represent the star that guided the three magi to the baby Jesus.

The pretty flowers symbolize 'the joy of Christmas'. The hexagonal snowflakes stand for happy memories of white Christmases celebrated on earth and God's mysterious providence of creation. The two big trees on the altar stand for the grace and love of God that was poured down upon us. The angelic decorations are spreading the joy of Christmas with trumpets in the streams of lights.

Recognising Reality - Grieve that God is cursed for every catastrophe, but seldom praised for His wonderful Creation. Lament that God makes the news headlines only when man mocks His power or questions His goodness, but tens-of-thousands of God’s acts of mercy, grace, protection, provision and patience receive no headlines. Grieve that the Name of the only righteous Man who ever walked the earth is used as a swear word on T.V. screens and in cinemas across the world. Grieve that God is blasphemed by the very same people who question why God does not restrain the consequences of their own rebellious actions
